ושמע בר שאול ארי מית אבנר בחברון ואתרשלו ידוהי וכל ישראל אתבהילו:
athbhylw yshral wkl ydwhy wathrshlw bkhbrwn abnr myth ary shawl br wshme
When Saul’s son heard that Abner was dead in Hebron, his hands became feeble, and all the Israelites were troubled.

ותרין גברין רבני רישי משרין הוו עם בר שאול שום חד בענא ושום תנינא רכב בני רמון דמבארות בני בנימין ארי אף בארות מתחשבא על דבית בנימין:
bnymyn dbyth el mthkhshba barwth ap ary bnymyn bny dmbarwth rmwn bny rkb thnyna wshwm bena khd shwm shawl br em hww mshryn ryshy rbny gbryn wthryn
Saul’s son had two men who were captains of raiding bands. The name of one was Baanah and the name of the other Rechab, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, of the children of Benjamin (for Beeroth also is considered a part of Benjamin;

וערקו אנש בארות לגתים והוו תמן דירין עד יומא הדין:
hdyn ywma ed dyryn thmn whww lgthym barwth ansh werqw
and the Beerothites fled to Gittaim, and have lived as foreigners there until today).

וליהונתן בר שאול ברא לקי בתרין רגלוהי בר חמש שנין הוה כד אתת בשורת שאול ויהונתן מיזרעאל ונטלתיה תורבנתיה ואפיכת והוה באתבעיותה למערק ונפל וחגר ושמיה מפיבשת:

Now Jonathan, Saul’s son, had a son who was lame in his feet. He was five years old when the news came about Saul and Jonathan out of Jezreel; and his nurse picked him up and fled. As she hurried to flee, he fell and became lame. His name was Mephibosheth.

ואזלו בני רמון דמבארות רכב ובענה ואתו כמיחם יומא לבית איש בשת והוא שכיב ית שנת מלכיא:

The sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, Rechab and Baanah, went out and came at about the heat of the day to the house of Ishbosheth as he took his rest at noon.

ואינון אתו עד גו ביתא כזבני חטין ומחוהי בסטר ירכיה ורכב ובענה אחוהי אשתיזבו:
ashthyzbw akhwhy wbenh wrkb yrkyh bsTr wmkhwhy khTyn kzbny bytha gw ed athw waynwn
They came there into the middle of the house as though they would have fetched wheat, and they struck him in the body; and Rechab and Baanah his brother escaped.

ואתו לביתא והוא שכיב על ערסיה באדרון בית משכביה ומחוהי וקטלוהי ואעדיאו ית רישיה ונסיבו ית רישיה ואזלו באורח מישרא כל ליליא:
lylya kl myshra bawrkh wazlw ryshyh yth wnsybw ryshyh yth waedyaw wqTlwhy wmkhwhy mshkbyh byth badrwn ersyh el shkyb whwa lbytha wathw
Now when they came into the house as he lay on his bed in his bedroom, they struck him, killed him, beheaded him, and took his head, and went by the way of the Arabah all night.

ואיתיאו ית ריש איש בושת לות דוד לחברון ואמרו למלכא הא ריש איש בשת בר שאול בעיל דבבך דבעא למקטלך ועבד יי לרבוני מלכא פורענותא יומא הדין משאול ומזרעיה:

They brought the head of Ishbosheth to David to Hebron, and said to the king, “Behold, the head of Ishbosheth, the son of Saul, your enemy, who sought your life! Yahweh has avenged my lord the king today of Saul and of his offspring. ”

ואתיב דוד ית רכב וית בענה אחוהי בני רמון דמבארות ואמר להון קים הוא יי די פרק ית נפשי מכל עקא:

David answered Rechab and Baanah his brother, the sons of Rimmon the Beerothite, and said to them, “As Yahweh lives, who has redeemed my soul out of all adversity,

ארי דחוי לי למימר הא מית שאול והוא הוה כמבשר בעיני נפשיה ואחדית ביה וקטלתיה בצקלג דהוה מדמי למתן ליה מתנת בסורתיה:
bswrthyh mthnth lyh lmthn mdmy dhwh btsqlg wqTlthyh byh wakhdyth npshyh beyny kmbshr hwh whwa shawl myth ha lmymr ly dkhwy ary
when someone told me, ‘Behold, Saul is dead,’ thinking that he brought good news, I seized him and killed him in Ziklag, which was the reward I gave him for his news.

אף ארי גברין רשיעיא קטלו ית גבר זכאי בביתיה על שוויה וכען הלא אתבע ית דמיה מידכון ואפלי יתכון מן ארעא:
area mn ythkwn waply mydkwn dmyh yth athbe hla wken shwwyh el bbythyh zkay gbr yth qTlw rshyeya gbryn ary ap
How much more, when wicked men have slain a righteous person in his own house on his bed, should I not now require his blood from your hand, and rid the earth of you?”

ופקיד דוד ית עולמיא וקטלינון וקציצו ית ידיהון וית רגליהון וצלבו על ברכתא בחברון וית ריש איש בושת נסיבו וקברו בקברא דאבנר בחברון:
bkhbrwn dabnr bqbra wqbrw nsybw bwshth aysh rysh wyth bkhbrwn brktha el wtslbw rglyhwn wyth ydyhwn yth wqtsytsw wqTlynwn ewlmya yth dwd wpqyd
David commanded his young men, and they killed them, cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up beside the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ishbosheth and buried it in Abner’s grave in Hebron.
